A Flamboyance of Flamingos
6x6x2″ Acrylic on Wooden Box (Available)
by Suzette Franck
Here is my latest painting, “A Flamboyance of Flamingos”. This a different direction from me, heavily influenced by Monet and the Los Angeles Zoo Flamingo exhibit. I love to paint something to remind me where I have been, and I am inspired by great modern painters like Monet, Picasso, Matisse, and Kandinsky. This is a 6x6x2″ wooden box. I used slow-drying acrylics by Golden, which I really liked working with. The colors dry matte yet extremely vibrant, more so than the photograph, and I found the drying time to be awesome for blending and overlays. I welcome all constructive criticism since this is my first piece of this style. Completed February 2016.
